Chris Hero Says His In-Ring Career Is Not Finished

This “King of Wrestling” says he is not ready to give up his throne.

Chris Hero was released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 amid mass cuts in the name of cost-effectiveness due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Since that time, Chris has remained largely quiet in regards to wrestling except for his Reddit activity in his Wrestling Genius subreddit.

NJPW Ranbo Announced For NJPW Wrestle Kingdom, KOPW Title Officially Retired

In a post made on Saturday, November 28, 2020, Hero revealed that his career is not over and he said that should he choose to be a coach, he could have a job tomorrow. As for why we have not seen him wrestle in the last six months, Chris says he has had numerous offers from multiple companies but he has not accepted any of them because he simply doesn't feel the time is right to get back in the ring, but rest assured, Chris Hero’s not ready to hang up his boots.

“Oh and, before anyone asks or infers, I am far from done wrestling. If I wanted to hang it up and coach/produce I could have a job tomorrow. I've turned down a number of companies in the last 6 months- not because they've been terrible offers or anything but because I'm just not ready. I will come back when the circumstances and situations are right. Trust me, it *kills* me to not be out there doing what I love. The time will come and when it does it will be spectacular. In the meantime, I appreciate all of your patience. Take care & stay safe!”

Over the years, Chris Hero has wrestled for NXT, IWA Mid-South, CHIKARA, CZW, NXT UK, Pro-Wrestling NOAH, and Ring of Honor among other promotions.
