Chris Jericho is coming back to NJPW.
At the end of today's NJPW Wrestling Dontaku event, a video aired featuring Chris Jericho, announcing he would be returning to NJPW on June 9 at Dominion to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The video aired immediately following Kazuchika Okada's successful IWGP Heavyweight Title defense over SANADA, setting up a showdown between Okada and Jericho.

Last year's Dominion marked the end of Okada's historic IWGP Heavyweight Title reign when he lost to Kenny Omega in a two-out-of-three falls match. Jericho was also on the show, defeating Tetsuya Naito to win the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
Jericho hasn't been seen in NJPW since losing the IWGP Intercontinental Title to Naito at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
Even though Jericho is signed to All Elite Wrestling, his contract with the promotion allows him to take dates in NJPW. Kenny Omega has the same clause written into his AEW contract, though he has yet to announce his return to NJPW.
