Speaking with Wil Ospreay on Talk Is Jericho, the former AEW World Champion looked back on his time in NJPW. Ospreay noted that they were supposed to face each other at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16. Jericho stated that they talked about it, and a match between him and Minoru Suzuki had also been discussed.

Chris Jericho: I was there at the Tokyo Dome in 2018, 2019, and 2020. ’20 had two shows and drew like 70,000 people (over two days).

Will Ospreay: It was meant to be me and you in 2021, right?

CJ: We had talked about it, yeah. It was either going to be me and you or me and Suzuki and you the next year. That’s what Gedo and I were discussing.

Jericho and Ospreay ultimately clashed at AEW All In, and Ospreay scored the win.

In a previous interview, Jericho said that he was saving a match against Suzuki for when he returns to Japan. Click here to see what he had to say.
