Chris Jericho Still Wants To Wrestle Kota Ibushi In Japan; Wants Major Match With Minoru Suzuki Also

Chris Jericho still has some bucket list goals to accomplish in his wrestling career in Japan.

After defeating Konosuke Takeshita at DDT Ultimate Party 2023, Chris Jericho took part in a post-show press conference. During the press conference, he was asked about any potential goals left as it pertains to wrestling any specific talents in Japan.

Jericho said he was impressed by Tetsuya Endo, who also wrestled on the same card. However, he admitted that the only reason he came to DDT was to face Takeshita. His goals in Japan are to have a singles match with Kota Ibushi and to make sure he gets a match with Minoru Suzuki. Specifically, Chris Jericho noted that he doesn't want to face Suzuki on a random episode of Dynamite. He wants there to be a story.

"If you're talking about other wrestlers in DDT, Endo, I thought he was very good tonight. I was very impressed with him," Jericho said. "I still think there's a Jericho-Ibushi match that we could have in Japan. I think the biggest Japanese wrestler never faced is Suzuki. I know he wants to do it and I want to do it. Once again, he's a lot like my thoughts on Takeshita. I don't want to have a match just on a random dynamite I want to have a big main event match in Ryogoku, in the Tokyo Dome, somewhere big, and I want to do it in Japan."

On November 15, in the Like A Dragon Street Fight, Chris Jericho will team with Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, and Paul Wight against Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Brian Cage, who will be on loan from the Mogul Embassy. Fans can learn more about that match here.

Minoru Suzuki noted in April 2023 that he'd like to face Jericho before he retires. Read more here.
