"The Painmaker" was a pain taker on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston went to war on Wednesday, July 20, in a match where they were surrounded by barbed wire. Damien, although he got away with the victory, Chris Jericho was definitely made to feel the barbed wire more than Eddie Kingston and ended the show laying on a spider web of barbed wire.
Coming out of that match, AEW has now announced that Chris Jericho suffered a broken nose, among other injuries, during that match.
Despite winning last night's Barbed Wire Everywhere Death Match on #AEWDynamite: #FyterFest Night 3, along with cuts and bruises, @IAmJericho also suffered a broken nose at the hands of @MadKing1981 #EddieKingston. At the end of the day, Chris Jericho needed every member of the Jericho Appreciation Society and a new member in Anna Jay in order to actually come away with the victory but Eddie Kingston made it clear that it was about much more than wins and losses.
Jericho was even stretchered out following his win. See the full video embedded above.
