Christian Cage has retired the TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt.
On August 19, Christian Cage returned to the IMPACT Zone for the first time in nearly a decade. The AEW Superstar won the IMPACT World Title on the inaugural episode of Rampage, defeating Kenny Omega in the main event.
While in the ring, Christian said that he is thankful for his time with IMPACT Wrestling, and while he respects everyone that held the TNA Championship, he believes it's time to respectfully retire the belt. Christian explains that he spoke with Scott D'Amore about the decision before handing it off. Christian wants the focus to be on the here and now and the IMPACT Championship.
Christian will defend the title on August 20 at IMPACT Emergence against Brian Myers.

In April 2020, Moose began to refer to himself as the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and carrying around the old title belt. At Sacrifice on March 13, 2021, Impact World Champion Rich Swann defeated Moose in a championship unification match. Despite this, he and, subsequently Kenny Omega, continued to carry both belts.
