Christopher Daniels: Being Interim EVP Means I Take A Better Beating Than Tony Khan

Christopher Daniels comments on being Interim EVP.

On the May 29th episode of AEW Dynamite, Christopher Daniels was named the Interim EVP by Tony Khan. The decision was made due to The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Jack Perry, & Kazuchika Okada) attacking Tony Khan one month earlier on AEW Dynamite. In the month between, The Young Bucks fired Daniels for questioning their authority.

Bryan Danielson Asked For Jim Ross To Call His AEW World Title Win, 'Jim Is Still Fantastic'

Speaking to Renee Paquette, Daniels was asked what his role entails.

"Honestly, I think it means that I take a better beating than Tony Khan. That really is the long and short of it. He came back from a neck injury pretty quick. I think all it means is that when decisions need to be made and Tony doesn't want to go out and possibly risk being attacked by other EVPs, it's time for CD to take a role. Here I am," he said.

Daniels did make the decision to not allow Jack Perry to be awarded the AEW TNT Title after Adam Copeland's injury, instead putting together a ladder match where a new champion would be crowned at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

Perry will face Dustin Rhodes in a qualifying match for the ladder match on AEW Dynamite.
