He's hot, he's spicy, but he's probably not coming to AEW.
At various points during his career, most notably during his days in TNA and NJPW, Christopher Daniels donned a mask to portray a cartoon character named Curry Man. The character was a fun-loving babyface with a Japanese accent.
It's been a while since fans have seen Curry Man, but could he make an appearance on AEW television?
"I don't know if I could do Curry Man like I did in TNA and not be racially insensitive," Daniels said on AEW Unrestricted. "The original plan for Curry Man in TNA, in my mind, was to be like the Yellow God. I had just left TNA, I was coming back in a mask, and I wanted everyone to know it was me. I wanted it to be obvious that it was me, but Jeff Jarrett was like, 'No, it can't be you.' That was where the idea of making him Japanese and doing the Japanese voice came from. At the time, it's not a stereotype voice, that's what Jushin Liger sounds like to me. It's my impersonation of Jushin Liger, but if you don't know that and you're a Japanese guy and hear this white mouth saying stupid stuff in a Japanese accent, it might really upset you. I don't know if Curry Man can show up (in AEW). I have to reimagination, and I think I have an idea, but who knows if anyone will ever want to hear it. It might be better if Curry Man rode off into the sunset and lives on with fondness from afar."
Daniels last wrestled as Curry Man in February 2018.
He is currently finding success in the AEW tag team division alongside Frankie Kazarian. The duo is currently ranked number one in the latest AEW official rankings.
