Chyna Documentary On VICE Draws Higher Viewership Than IMPACT Wrestling On 6/17/21

IMPACT Wrestling suffered a ratings loss while going up against the Vice Versa documentary on Chyna.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics (on Patreon), the June 17 episode of IMPACT Wrestling drew 111,000 viewers, which was down from the 124,000 viewers the show drew on June 10. This number also happens to be the lowest viewership number since May 20.

Furthermore, the Vice Versa documentary about Chyna that aired that same night, and overlapped with the final hour of IMPACT, was watched by 158,000 viewers. The 9-11 timeslot on VICE is usually when they would air Dark Side of the Ring. The number drawn by the docu-special was "just below" the low end for what Dark Side was averaging this past season.

It was also noted that among viewers aged 18-49, IMPACT was watched by 39,000 viewers, 27,000 less than the 66,000 who tuned in to watch the Chyna documentary. Thurston points out that "VICE's Thursday night wrestling-related programming has beaten IMPACT every week since the third season of Dark Side began on May 6. Dark Side is now on hiatus until September."
