Blood & Guts lived up to its name.
The June 29 episode of AEW Dynamite was headlined by a Blood & Guts match. The two teams competing were The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Angelo Parker, & Matt Menard) versus Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley, & Claudio Castagnoli. Jericho's squad earned the advantage heading into the match by winning their Trios Match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
In the main event of Blood & Guts, Eddie Kingston's team would emerge victoriously when Claudio Castagnoli scored a submission on Daddy Magic Matt Menard atop the cage. This happened at the same time that Eddie was trying to make Chris Jericho tap. The Mad King was visibly disappointed that his moment to get revenge on Jericho was stolen by the man he openly hates.
They were able to hug it out after the match as the team had their hands raised, but this will only add fuel to the already burning fire between them.
