Austin returning at WrestleMania 38 after 19 years away from the ring, and Punk returned to WWE in November 2023, gave fans some hope that a match was possible.

Speaking on The Masked Man Show during Fanatics Fest NYC, Punk was asked about potentially facing Austin at WrestleMania 41.

"That would be up to Steve. It's not up to me. I think he had a pretty good return. Came back, main evented WrestleMania. At this point, his six shooters might be buried in the Nevada desert. If he wants to dig them up, I'm your huckleberry. It should've happened ten-plus years ago, but if he wants to go to sleep, he can call me," said Punk.

Austin has teased an appearance at WrestleMania 41 given that he lives in Nevada and the event is in Las Vegas.
