CM Punk References AJ Lee, Larry, And WrestleMania 22 Cameo On WWE SmackDown

CM Punk opened the April 4th episode of WWE SmackDown, receiving a heroes welcome in Chicago.

Before beginning his promo, Punk grabbed the camera and got the crowd riled up by saying he was told the overseas crowds were the loudest, but he believed Chicago could do better.

CM Punk said he's not supposed to be here because he was born with the umbilical cord around his neck and was blue. Punk said every time he comes out on TV, he's supposed to make new fans but on Friday, he wanted to thank all the fans in the building.

The crowd chanted "You deserve it" when Punk mentioned that he was going to be in the main event of WrestleMania. Punk said he earned it because he was always told, "You're not supposed to be here," but he kept working and now the hard work begins.

Punk referenced his only other WrestleMania main event appearance, when he served as a gangster for John Cena's entrance at WrestleMania 22. Punk went on to reference his wife AJ Lee and his dog Larry.

Punk stated once again that now the hard work begins and he's going to whip Seth Rollins' ass and put a beating on Roman Reigns in the main event.

Paul Heyman made his way to the ring, apologizing for being late and saying he meant no disrespect to his best friend and "The Best in the World" CM Punk.

Heyman said Punk belongs here and belongs in the main event of WrestleMania.

Heyman recounted how he went to CM Punk and asked him to return at Survivor Series to be part of Team Bloodline because Reigns was in trouble. Heyman said Punk saved them and he has one more favor to ask of Punk.

"Please tell me the favor I owe you. Roman Reigns is going to be here and he's pissed off as it is," said Heyman.

Heyman said Reigns isn't at the arena yet, seemingly offending Punk. Punk said that the favor might affect Roman Reigns a little bit and he'd like to tell him to his face.
