The AEW World Champion is back.
After missing all summer due to a foot injury, CM Punk returned to AEW programming on the August 10 edition of AEW Dynamite. Punk made his return after the Jon Moxley vs. Chris Jericho AEW World Title Match, saving Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club from a beat down at the hands of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Back on June 3, Punk announced he was stepping away from the company to deal with a foot injury. Despite taking time off, Punk did not relinquish the AEW World Championship at the request of Tony Khan.
While Punk was gone, Jon Moxley was crowned as the Interim AEW World Champion at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The two are set to meet at a later date to merge the two titles.
