Cody Rhodes Addresses John Cena's Heel Turn, 'He's Convinced He's The Last Of His Kind, But I'm Right Here'

Cody Rhodes addresses John Cena's shocking heel turn and having to lie to his daughter about the black eye he received.

Cody Rhodes arrived on the March 7 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a shiner. The bruise serves as a temporary reminder of what John Cena did at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025. Rhodes revealed that his daughter, Liberty, had asked him what had happened to his face. As he wasn't sure what to tell her, he lied and said that he had walked into a wall.

Cody Rhodes then spoke about his history of driving John Cena around as a young talent. He revealed that he was heartbroken by what Cena did as he views him as many in the audience do. However, one day he vows to tell his daughter the truth, that the man who wore "Never Give Up" on his merchandise finally gave up.

He said that John Cena will eventually address the matter in smooth-talking fashion, but he believes he is the last of his kind. Cody says he is proof that everything evolves: " The next one doesn't look like the last. " He will hold up the WWE Championship after facing John Cena at WrestleMania.

He closed the promo with one of John's famous lines: "If you want some, come get some."
