Cody Rhodes is all about the numbers.
Cody Rhodes was given a Superstar rating of 96 in the new WWE 2K25 video game. That is on par with the 2012 version of John Cena and the modern version of Roman Reigns. Appearing on Mostly Sports with Mark Titus and Brandon Walker, Cody was asked if the number means anything to him.
While most would downplay such a thing, Cody Rhodes says that he is honored to be in the same space as Roman Reigns, and any wrestler who says they don't care what the numbers say and something like a video game or when it comes to a specific magazine's ratings is lying.
"I think anytime you're compared in the space of a Roman — Roman is truly just a breathtaking, unbelievably talented, amazing performer. To be able to get there, and also to be able to have just returned to WWE essentially, in this four-year span, and knock that out that's incredible. But also it sets the pressure for next year. 2K's putting out a game every year. Where does that number go? If you have a wrestler sitting on your couch, when you do a podcast within a podcast, and they tell you they don't care about the number, you can go ahead and chalk it off and say, like, that's a liar. They're lying. Every wrestler cares about the numbers. The same with that silly magazine that comes out. God bless it. Everyone cares about their number. That's a thing. If you find one that doesn't, they're either in the Hall of Fame already, or they're just lying."
Cody Rhodes still falls one point short of the 2022 version of Roman Reigns, who is rated a 97.
It's befitting that Cody Rhodes is ranked the same as 2012 John Cena. Cody will be facing Cena at WrestleMania 41 for the WWE Championship and has stated that he will do what Cena used to do back in those days and just win. Read more here.
