The teases continue.
Following the announcement that Cody Rhodes will challenge Jay Lethal for the ROH World Title at Final Battle, Cody took to Twitter to reveal his plans.
Jay was the first match I had in ROH two years ago. He will be my last. And I will take the World Championship into free agency. -- https://t.co/6qlrg6d8vZ

Cody made his ROH debut at Final Battle 2016, defeating Lethal after a low blow and cross rhodes. Cody would go on to win the ROH World Title at Best In The World 2017, defeating Christopher Daniels. Cody lost the title to Dalton Castle last year at Final Battle. Lethal defeated Castle to win the title this past June.
Final Battle will mark Cody's official one-on-one rematch, which he never received following his loss to Castle.
As previously reported, Cody's contract with ROH expired at the end of October. Cody has verbally committed to the company through the end of the year. He is currently sidelined with a torn meniscus, which kept him out of the final night of the Global Wars tour last week. He was scheduled to defend his IWGP US Title against Beretta. He has stated that he doesn't plan on missing any dates despite the injury, but matches may change.
