Cody Rhodes Says He Learned The Rock vs. Roman Reigns Was Possible Day Of WWE Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes reflects on learning of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns.

The road to WrestleMania XL took many twists and turns, highlighted by Cody Rhodes winning the Royal Rumble and then giving up his spot to The Rock....only to take his spot back less than a week later. Instead of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, Cody would wrestle twice during WrestleMania XL weekend, teaming with Seth Rollins to face The Rock & Roman Reigns at night one and then facing Reigns at night two.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Cody revealed when he learned of the possibility of Rock vs. Reigns.

"It is revealed in that documentary [WrestleMania XL Behind The Scenes] and might put things in a different perspective for people; I found out the possibility of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns the day of the Royal Rumble. I had to leave that room, head up, and make sure no one knew what could possibly happen and probably one of the more difficult days I've had in the wrestling business, but how could I complain when you're winning the Royal Rumble and you're pointing at the sign. It was such a high, such a low," he said.

It is unknown when the WrestleMania XL documentary will be released.

Brian Gewirtz revealed that Cody was supposed to be more upbeat in stepping aside for The Rock. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
