Cody Rhodes Says That His Robe Is Not Based On Homelander, 'The Character Is A Terrible Human Being'

Cody Rhodes says that his robe is not based on Homelander.

Back in 2020, fans began to notice that Cody Rhodes' entrance jacket looked a bit similar to the character of Homelander from 'The Boys'. Over the years, the joke has continued to grow in the wrestling community, with Rhodes even acknowledging it on a number of occasions.

AEW International Title Bout Announced For AEW Full Gear

In July, Rhodes did a commercial for the new season of 'The Boys'. The show was also a big sponsor for the recent Money In The Bank premium live event.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview, Rhodes confirmed that his robe is not based on Homelander.

“With all the love I have for The Boys and his performance as Homelander, the entire cast, and their production is first class., what a production. The robe is not based on it. The robe is based on military dress uniforms. It’s the little bit of scales, the gold are on my bigger robe that has the eagles and of course, the blonde hair and I think the AEW run where people thought I’m pretending to be a good guy but I’m actually a bad guy, which maybe it was what was happening? I think that’s where it really became is he’s gonna go full Homelander? Truthfully, Homelander the character is a terrible human being.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Rhodes talked about being the last member of The Elite to sign with AEW. Learn more about those comments here.
