Cody Rhodes says he did not expect to bring the North Star back to the Carolinas and Georgia.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finished the story when he defeated Roman Reigns to win the WWE Championship, capturing the title that his alluded his father Dusty Rhodes throughout his in ring career.
While speaking to WLTX in an interview ahead of the October 18th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody reflected on his dad wrestling and producing for Jim Crockett promotions and what it means to bring the WWE championship back to the Carolinas and Georgia.
"But for me, Jim Crockett Promotions, my dad, when he wrestled and when he produced, was all here in the Carolinas and Georgia in this area. So even if I try to treat every place like it's my home, and I do, there is a difference between when you're really close to home, actually. There's just something special about being in the Carolinas, being a Rhodes and having what we would consider the North Star of the industry, which is unexpected. I never would have thought this would happen and now it's just the greatest thing to be able to take it to each one of these cities."
