Cody's first title defense in Ring Of Honor has been announced.
It has been two-and-a-half weeks since The Young Bucks and Cody presented their self-financed 'All In' event. That very event saw a number of dream matchups that many wrestling fans have wanted to see and one of the many moments that will remain on the minds of those who viewed the show was when Cody followed up on his father's legacy by capturing the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship by defeating Nick Aldis.
Cody is contracted to Ring Of Honor and is now the holder of the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title and it was recently announced by the National Wrestling Alliance that their championship will be defended on Ring Of Honor turf once again. The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title was defended at Ring Of Honor's 'Honor For All' event in July which is where the then-champion Nick Aldis defeated Flip Gordon to retain the title.
The ten pounds of gold is coming back to Ring Of Honor on September 29th at the ROH TV tapings the day after the company's 'Death Before Dishonor' PPV. It was announced via the NWA's official Twitter page that Cody will be defending the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at the next set of ROH TV tapings against former two-time Lucha Underground Trios Champion Willie Mack. You can view the video from Cody's announcement above.
