The December 11 episode of NXT has a couple of big matches set for the show.
NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush will defend his title against rival Angel Garza, a month after besting him in an acclaimed match on NXT TV. During the match, Garza took off his pants in front of Rush's wife and mother-in-law, prompting a later assault from Rush.

A major development was also confirmed for the show, as Finn Balor, Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee will all square off in a top contender's match. The winner moves on to face Adam Cole for the NXT Championship on December 18.
Also added to the December 11 NXT is a grudge match pitting Mia Yim against Dakota Kai. Yim was attacked by Kai backstage at NXT Takeover: WarGames, eliminating her from competition. Kai would then turn on her team, who would still go on to win. On the December 4 episode of NXT, Mia Yim returned and attacked Kai, which would prevent a planned match between Kai and Rhea Ripley.
