A rough night for Apollo Crews at NXT Vengeance Day.
Not only did Apollo Cruise lose in two straight falls to Carmelo Hayes at NXT Vengeance Day but his former bodyguard Dabba-Kato (Commander Azeez) returned only to quickly turn on his former partner.
Hayes scored the first Victory with a Crossface submission and in the second fall, Dabba-Kato appeared to return to help his former partner and neutralize the interference of Trick Williams but shortly after his appearance, Melo pinned Apollo after hitting Nothing But Net.
Following the match, Dabba-Kato picked up Apollo Crews and appeared to embrace him before turning on him landing a double-handed Choke Bomb on a steel chair.
Is that...?

Kato was paired with Apollo during his run as WWE Intercontinental Champion 2021. Kato has been away from television since Apollo Crews returned to WWE NXT. Kato did appear once at an NXT live event in the corner of Cora Jade.
