Davey Boy Smith Jr. wins the gold.
At AJPW Giant Series 2024, Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Yuma Aoyagi to win the AJPW Triple Crown Championship. Smith Jr. joins Joe Doering, Vader, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Stan Hansen, Terry Gordy, and Taiyo Kea on the list of foreigners who have won the title.
Smith Jr. has been wrestling for AJPW since the Champion Carnival tournament in late 2023 and later signed with the company.

In 2024, Davey Boy Smith Jr. has also wrestled for CMLL and MLW, among other promotions. He had a prominent run in WWE earlier in his career, as he won the tag team titles with Tyson Kidd.
Smith Jr. has also had runs in NJPW, NOAH, and NWA, in addition to his stint in MLW; he won the tag team titles in all four companies.
Natalya took to Twitter/X to comment on Smith Jr.'s win by noting that he had wanted this since he was a kid, and he finally did it.
