Dakota Kai stabbed Bayley in the back.
Dakota Kai returned to the ring on the March 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, as she teamed up with Bayley to face the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Kai had seemingly aligned with Bayley in her feud against Damage CTRL, as she claimed that the group attacked her backstage. She then vowed to help Bayley.
On the March 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, Kai and Bayley faced their former stablemates. But just as Bayley went for the tag at the key point in the match, Kai hopped off the apron. Kai and Asuka then took the fight to Bayley.

Bayley rallied, and she left the ring to try and get revenge on Kai. However, Damage CTRL overwhelmed her, and the group attacked her while Kai stood by. In doing so, she seemingly cemented her allegiance to the group.

Before March 1, Kai last wrestled on the May 12, 2023, episode of WWE SmackDown. She suffered a torn ACL, and she had been sidelined ever since. During her recovery, she continued to appear on WWE programming in a non-wrestling capacity.
