Daniel Garcia Wonders Whether Death Triangle Has Been Holding 'Mickey Mouse' Trios Titles In AEW

Daniel Garcia and Private Party analyze the best-of-seven series between The Elite and Death Triangle.

The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) won the AEW World Trios Championship by defeating Hangman Page, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver at AEW All Out. Omega and The Young Bucks were subsequently suspended following a reported brawl with CM Punk after the show, and the titles were vacated. On the following episode of AEW Dynamite, Death triangle (PAC, Rey Fenuix, and Penta El Zero Miedo) beat Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, and Trent Beretta to win the gold.

he Elite returned at AEW Full Gear and unsuccessfully challenged Death Triangle for the titles, and AEW announced a Best of Seven Series between the teams. Death Triangle scored the victory in the first two bouts by using a bell hammer to clinch the win, but The Elite won the third match on the November 30 episode of AEW Dynamite.

On the newest episode of Being The Elite, which was recorded before the third match, Daniel Garcia and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) discussed the series in an apparent parody of "Inside The NBA" and other sports talk shows. In one highlight, Garcia described how some people are calling Death Tiangle "Mickey Mouse" champions because they never beat The Elite to win the titles.

DG: A lot of people are saying, so the Elite were the first six-man champions. They got their titles stripped for some other reasons, and the Death Triangle won it when they beat the people who weren’t even the champions to win the title. Are those Mickey Mouse titles? That’s what a lot of people are saying.”

IK: The Elite just came back. They’ve been off for three months. Their rust is clearly showing. Now when they get back in their groove, it’s gonna be a whole different story.

Kassidy and Quen started talking over each other, prompting Garcia to speak up and demand his turn.

DG: It’s my turn! It’s my turn. Listen, it’s my turn. It’s a seven-match series, and l I’m wondering, was it foolish of The Elite to jump right in against maybe the best trios team in the world in Death Triangle? They jumped right into a seven-match series with no warmup matches, no nothing. They jumped right in. Is that stupid? are they gonna get hurt? What’s gonna happen? Talk to me.

In response, Kassidy noted that Omega and the Young Bucks don't need practice, but Garcia fired back by saying that The Elite's losses broke his heart.

IK: that’s just showing how great they are because they don’t need practice.

DG: They lost! They lost both their matches. Are they gonna lose tonight?! I wanna see them win. I was the biggest Elite fan when I was a kid, and they’re breaking my heart! They broke my heart!

The trio then looked back on the memorable second match in the series, where The Elite dealt with a hostile crowd in Chicago, and Kassidy blamed this environment for their defeat. Quen argued that the crowd was on The Elite's side, but the other two shut him down.

IK: the reason why they lost was because Chicago, that whack-ass crowd, it got in their head.

DG: Facts. Facts. Quen: what are you talking about? The crowd was on their side.

IK: No, the crowd was not on their side. They said, ‘Fuck The Elite.’

DG: They started chanting that. I hope it’s different tonight. I hope they win. The tides change tonight.

Earlier in the conversation, Garcia also questioned the Death Triangle's victories and noted that some people called them "Mickey Mouse wins". Quen then shared his belief that The Elite, unlike their opponents, wouldn't need to cheat to win ahead of the match

DG: A lot of people are saying that , due to the hammer shots, the wins for the Death Triangle are just Mickey Mouse wins. Is it a Mickey Mouse win?

MQ: The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, they’re not gonna cheat. But you know who is? Death Triangle.

Near the end of the analysis, the trio got amped up and started chanting "The Elite" and doing the trio's hand signal before Garcia wrapped it up.

DG: Alright guys. Thank you for joining us for this very civil discussion about the seven-match series between The Elite and the Death Triangle. I hope you tune in to see what happens. I hope you tune in to see what happens in the next couple matches. Will The Elite prevail? Will the Death Triangle hit a clean sweep? Who knows. Keep watching, and let’s find out. Thank you for joining us.
