Darby Allin comments on the term 'superstar'.
Allin is someone who has been around AEW since virtually the beginning of the company, and has a lot of loyalty for the promotion. With that being said, Allin feels he would not be in the position he is in without AEW.
While speaking on A Meal & A Match, Darby Allin discussed the term superstar, noting that he feels it is a 'stupid' phrase.
“That’s why with wrestling, I think being a spokesperson for the younger kids, they can see me and relate. I’m not just coming into AEW and being like, ‘Yo, everything’s perfect, I’m a superstar.’ Superstar is just such a stupid term. We’re like, ‘You’re down here, we’re up here, we’re superstars. I’m one of you who just made it, you know what I mean, and you can make it too.’”
Allin is currently fighting off the take over of All Elite Wrestling at the hands of Jon Moxley and The Deathriders.
Elsewhere in the same interview, Allin commented on his recovery process. You can read more about that here.
