Dave Bautista (Batista) Hopes To Direct His First Film In 2025

The evolution of Dave Bautista continues.

Dave Bautista spent eight years during his first run on the WWE roster from 2002-2010 and then had a strong 6-month run in 2014 that saw him win the Royal Rumble, headline WrestleMania 30, and reform Evolution with Randy Orton and Triple H to feud with Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins, The Shield.

Outside of that, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has made a name for himself in Hollywood taking part in such films as Dune, and Spectre. He also played a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Drax the Destroyer from the Guardians of the Galaxy series.

Now, Bautista is looking to evolve once again and begin directing.

In a new interview with Screen Rant, Dave says he's hoping to direct his first film by 2025, noting that he is drawn to Indie dramas and inspiring stories. Dave says he has come up with his own idea for a film and he is now looking for writers.

"I've wanted to direct for years. For a while, I was looking for a project that I could direct because it's got to be very contained. I'm not looking to be a blockbuster director. I want to direct what I like. As a fan, I really am drawn to indie dramas. I like inspiring stories. I like deep emotional stories. For years I looked for a script, the right one for me, and I finally just came up with my own idea. So now I'm searching for writers but I will. My plan is to sometime in 2025 direct my first film."

Batista had his last match for WWE in 2019 at WWE WrestleMania 35. He competed against Triple H in a No Holds Barred Match which saw Hunter finally defeat his protege.
