David Finlay says nobody in AEW can beat him.
IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay has taken some shots at AEW; he recently called it the place that he sent people who aren't as good as him. During the NJPW G1 Climax 354, Finlay defeated AEW's Konosuke Takeshita in tournament action.
He says he'd be open to a cage match with Tony Khan at Wrestle Dynasty though, and if he wins he gets Tony's bank account number
In an interview with Tokyo Sports, David Finlay looked ahead to the Wrestle Dynasty event, which will include AEW talent. He noted that nobody in AEW could beat him. Finlay also said that he was open to facing Tony Khan in a cage match where he would get Khan's bank account number if he won. (Translated by DeepL)
"I don't think there's a wrestler who can beat me in AEW, and if there's someone who wants to try, I'm willing to challenge him, but there are only guys below me in that organization. I can think positively about a cage match with [president and billionaire] Tony Khan. If I win, I'll get his bank account number," Finlay said,
Finlay continued, saying that AEW was full of second-tier fighters. He noted that plenty of people had gone there to get more money, but he was not worried about that. Finlay said that he liked to fight, and NJPW was the place to do that.
"AEW is a group of second-tier fighters. All the guys who have gone there are just trying to make money because it's getting tough to fight here. They're just going to make money. My whole family is full of professional wrestlers, so I could have chosen to fight for the organization of my choice from the beginning. What I like most is fighting strong guys and winning. I've never worried about money, and I don't care. The New Japan ring is the place where I can fight strong guys. The Global Champion will grab the top spot," Finlay said.
Finlay previously said that he had a bad habit of breaking Tony Khan's toys. Check out his comments here.
