Deonna Purrazzo would like to test her skills against one of her best friends in Chelsea Green.
After being released by WWE on Thursday, April 15, 2021, Chelsea Green has resurfaced and Ring of Honor and IMPACT Wrestling. Deonna Purrazzo, who was released by WWE a year prior, has reigned supreme over IMPACT since making her debut, capturing the coveted Knockouts Championship two times and being crowned Homecoming Queen at the recent Homecoming streaming special.
Speaking of the Battleground Podcast, Purrazzo stated that she would like to see her friend, Chelsea Green, step up and challenge her for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship, noting that while Green is a former Knockouts Champion herself, she believes that it will take some time for Green to find her place and become comfortable once again.
"Well, I mean, obviously, there's a part of me that hopes it's Chelsea. Yeah, she is a former Knockouts Champion. So there's a lot there because she was a former Knockouts Champion, we kind of traveled a similar path over those last two or three years. She's got a lot to prove and she's got a lot in her and she's kind of in those growing steps that I had to go through when I first came to IMPACT, I'm just getting my confidence back and knowing who I am and what I bring to the table and believing in that. and whether she's coming for the championship or not what she's actually made clear she is. So I'm interested to see how that develops. But I'm excited for her just to find Chelsea Green, find that 'Hot Mess' and be comfortable and confident in who she is again, I think. My gosh, I'd love that."
Continuing on, Purrazzo would also say that Tasha Steelz, someone that she helped train, is someone that she would be interested in wrestling for the championship as well.
"Tasha Steelz is someone I help train, someone who's been in my corner since the very beginning, so I would love to see her get the opportunity and it would kind of be a little bit of teacher or student. So that is interesting. But you know, I'm just gonna, there are a few girls I haven't wrestled yet, and I plan to break their arm or break their neck, one way or another."
While in WWE NXT, Purrazzo and Green formed a tandem known as VXT. This is something that Chelsea now says she would not have felt as comfortable pitching today. Learn more here.
