Deonna Purrazzo is asked about the incident between Britt Baker and MJF.
On the July 31st episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone noted that Britt Baker had been suspended by Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson for her actions at San Diego ComicCon. The suspension turned out to be more than a storyline beat as the Wrestling Observer reported that Baker was suspended after an incident involving Baker, MJF, and Alicia Atout.
Speaking to Stephanie Chase, Deonna Purrazzo was asked about the incident.
"Very similar," she said of the AEW and TNA locker room, which she previously referred to as a family in the interview. "I think this was just one instance that sparked a lot of drama, and also kind of took on a life of its own. The rumor mill starts going and things aren't as they were. People add their two cents and it makes it way bigger than it was. I think this was an isolated incident because everything else that I've experienced in this locker room is supportive, encouraging, is a lot of camaraderie. We just recently celebrated people's birthdays and had birthday cakes and sang. I feel this locker room doesn't get as much credit as it deserves for that type of camaraderie. I don't know what it was like before. I can only speak to my experiences, but I feel like it doesn't get enough credit as it deserves."
Fightful Select published the following report on August 2 regarding the incident:
Several weeks ago, an argument between Britt Baker and MJF occurred.
The word internally was that Baker exercised frustration about MJF within the women's locker room. Word made it back to MJF, as his girlfriend Alicia Atout was in the room.
The details are "he said she said" at this point, but we're told that there were confrontations between Alicia Atout and Britt Baker, as well as MJF and Baker. At one point Will Ospreay also spoke with Baker. Word was that Baker also took issue with Atout telling MJF about what was said in the locker room. There was a claim from one person in the locker room that Baker cursed at Atout and wanted to kick her out of the locker room for discussing the conversation.
Baker returned from her storyline suspension on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
Purrazzo will face Thunder Rosa in a Texas Bull Rope match on the August 10th episode of AEW Collision.
