Deonna Purrazzo Would Like To Team With Steve Maclin, IMPACT Writers Didn't See Them Together

Deonna Purrazzo has reigned supreme in the Knockouts division since joining the company in May 2020. Her boyfriend Steve Maclin joined her in the company in June following his WWE release.

In the recent IMPACT Homecoming tournament, a pairing between Purrazzo and Maclin would have made sense given their off-screen ties, but Purrazzo was instead paired with "Drama King" Matt Rehwoldt.

Speaking during a Q&A with the Asylum Store, Purrazzo discussed the possibility of teaming with Maclin in IMPACT.

"We did the Homecoming tournament we were like, 'it would be cool if we got to team together.' The writers were like, 'we don't see a world where you two would interact.' I was like, 'awww, okay, I agree, but also like...we love each other in real life.' I think we're tagging together on an Indie show at the end of next month. We'll see how that goes. I'm really happy to see him doing his own thing. For as long as he's been on TV and with WWE, he was never a singles star. He was in a tag team with Blake and then trios with the Forgotten Sons, so it's been fun for him to figure himself out. I'm going to let him roll with it and if our paths are meant to cross on TV then I look forward to that day," she said.

Purrazzo is set to defend her Knockouts Championship against an unnamed opponent at the recently announced IMPACT Knockouts Knockdown.

The event will tape this weekend and air on October 9. You can learn more by clicking here.
