After a fast-paced affair between the three finalists and the champion, the final two came down to Difunto the champion Cavernario. After a hard-fought affair between the two Jalisco natives, CMLL's resident Dead Man (Difunto) ended up picking up the victory after connecting Cavernario with a Walk-Rope Coast-to-Coast to pick up the pinfall win.

Difunto joins Terrible, Stuka Jr., and the before-mentioned Cavernario in the list of champions to have previously held the belt. This is not the only silverware he is holding at the moment, as he is one-third of the CMLL Occidental Trios Champions (alongside Crixus and Raider) and holding said belts for over 215 days at the time of writing.
