Dolph Ziggler Says He's "Technically" Under WWE Contract, Calls It A "Handshake Agreement"

Dolph Ziggler provides an update on his status with WWE.

Appearing on 98.5 Wrestling Inside The Ropes, Ziggler was asked whether he is currently under contract with WWE. Ziggler said, "Technically, I am, yes. The last two years I've had somewhat of a handshake agreement, behind closed doors deal with WWE. I've been able to do a lot of things on my own, not WWE, just because of the relationship we've had over the last 14 years. I have a bit of a handshake agreement right now, but we'll know some more details in the coming months."

His status in the company came into question prior to the Royal Rumble as he reportedly turned down a WWE offer to become a producer and some in the company reportedly feared that he would be finishing up with WWE at the end of January.

Ziggler made a surprise appearance in the 2019 Royal Rumble, entering the contest at No. 28. He lasted 11 minutes before being eliminated by Braun Strowman.

Ziggler has not been on WWE television since the Rumble.
