Marcus Mathers is excited about being a part of WWE ID.
In November, WWE announced that Marcus Mathers had been identified as a WWE ID prospect, meaning he'd be part of the WWE Independent Development program. Since then, he has continued to compete on the independent scene.
In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Marcus Mathers discussed joining the WWE ID program.
“It’s absolutely insane. Even now, all of us, fans, wrestlers, everybody, we don’t know fully what it is. This is so new that even us, WWE, we’re all learning through it. We’re all coming up things as time goes on because it’s so new. So I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know where this would go, how it would be. Everything on Twitter, the matches, that wasn’t brought up first. So these are all new. We get to have WWE ID Showcase matches on the indies. That’s so cool. It was insane. I was handed a contract by Mr. [William] Regal at Friday Night SmackDown. It’s just insane. I don’t have a lot of words for it. But it’s not the dream. That’s not the final dream. The final dream is getting a contract. But that is the goal with WWE ID. The end goal of this is getting that contract and moving to the next thing. So the first step of my dream is complete, but we have a shit ton more steps to go, and I’m ready and willing to do," Mathers said.
