Dolph Ziggler Wants To Be In John Cena's Spot

Despite championship wins and being one of the top guys of SmackDown Live, Dolph Ziggler still wishes he to be at John Cena's level.

In an interview with Planeta Wrestling, Ziggler was asked about comments he made to Podcaster Sam Roberts about wishing to be in Cena's spot and doubled down on that notion.

"Absolutely. I would love to be in the position that John Cena is in with the company," Ziggler said. "Of course. To be that guy that is always fighting for the championship, to be the guy who is always giving back to the fans, doing something important in the business, absolutely. I would love to be in that position with the company and I’m not someone who says, 'Hey, I would like to be on top of the company.' I’m someone that works so hard everyday to get to that spot and one day I will get there or one day I will not, but one way or another, the fact that you work hard everyday helps me sleep a little bit at night."

Since being drafted to SmackDown Live last summer, Ziggler challenged for the WWE World Championship against Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam and rekindled his feud with The Miz over the Intercontinental Championship.

Ziggler recently turned heel, and was in a segment with Jerry Lawler on the January 17 edition of SmackDown Live where Ziggler took credit for Lawler's infamous heart attack on RAW a few years ago.
