Rey Mysterio kicked off the holiday season a little early, and he paid for it.
In a video WWE posted on Thanksgiving day, Dominik and Rhea Ripley showed up at Rey's house, and the duo forced their way in when Rey tried to close the door. Dominik then hit Rey's foot, which was in a walking boot, with a broom.
During an appearance on the November 30 episode of WWE's The Bump, when asked to explain his actions, Dominik stated that Rey had his Christmas tree up too early. He then emphasized that he wants to keep making Rey miserable as a measure of revenge for the feeling that he lives under his father's shadow.
“Because he had his Christmas tree up before November was over. Honestly, he doesn’t deserve to just be living peacefully, you know. I had to live with his shadow my whole life, so I’m hoping to cast a big shadow over him and just keep torturing him as much as I can," Dominik said.
Ripley was also asked about the situation, and she made it clear that they wanted to enjoy Thanksgiving with the family, but Rey shut them out. She stated that when Rey was trying to take the spotlight for himself, they felt compelled to do something about it.
“It was great. We went in there, trying to be nice, trying to be civil. We were hoping that we could have a nice little family get together and just have Thanksgiving together, enjoy it. But Rey once again shut the door on Dominik. He disrespected myself and Dominik by closing that door, so I wasn’t having it. Then of course, he called me a name, and Dominik snapped. I mean, that’s what happens when you’re a bad influence in front of the children at the table. He’s trying to take the spotlight for himself, and we’re not gonna stand for it," Ripley said.
Later in the interview, Dominik was asked about their plans for the holiday season, and he admitted that he wasn't sure whether they'd be welcomed at his family's house for Thanksgiving. He noted that he usually follows whatever "Mami" likes to do.
"I don’t know. I take it day by day. I don’t know if we’re gonna be welcomed at my household for Christmas. But we’re gonna have to see what’s up. I kinda just go based off of what Mami likes to do. Whatever she has planned is what we’ll do," Dominik said.
