Dominik Mysterio wants to fight his father, Rey Mysterio, at WrestleMania 39.
Rey and Dominik previously teamed up together on WWE TV; they had a lengthy run as a duo dating back to Dominik's in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2020. At WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2021, they became the first father-son pairing to win tag team titles in WWE history. Eventually, Dominik turned on Rey at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022, as the young Mysterio attacked his father and joined The Judgment Day. He has been feuding with Rey ever since; Dominik and Rhea Ripley have ruined multiple holidays for Rey and his family.
In recent weeks, Dominik has repeatedly been trying to goad Rey to face him, but the veteran has refused. On the March 10 episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE announced Rey as the first inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023, but Dominik crashed the celebration and continued to insult his father.
Likewise, on the March 13 episode of WWE Raw, Rey came to the ring and discussed his Hall of Fame induction. Dominik interrupted again and tore into his father for not being there during his childhood. He insulted Rey and recalled how he was upset because Rey bought him a BMW (which wasn't even an M Series) when his friends got Mercedes. Dominik then called Rey a poor excuse of a man and challenged him to a match at WrestleMania.

Rey responded by saying that, despite everything Dominik has done, he still loves his son, and he refused to fight him. Dominik continued to mock Rey as he walked away.
