Don Callis loves when a plan comes together.
On the September 11th episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW International Champion Will Ospreay agreed to team up with Kyle Fletcher in the Tag Team Casino Gauntlet Match. They went on to win the match, so they will challenge the Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
In a digital exclusive, Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher commented on their victory.
Will Ospreay: When I was out there with him, it felt like I knew where he was gonna be at the exact moment where he needed me to be. Mate, we’ve been [in] Japan, we’ve been all over England, Australia. We nearly won the Australian tag titles once upon a time couple years ago. But honestly, being out there with all those incredible tag teams, man, we got so lucky out there.
Kyle Fletcher: Dude, I do not want to talk about luck at all. You can consider yourself the Gauntlet Guru now. What’s that, three? Hell yeah, dude. So let’s get our minds straight, let’s get focused on this match because we have a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships, the Young Bucks.
WO: The best tag team in the world.
KF: We gotta get our minds straight, man. You got two shoulders for a reason, bro. Double gold.
WO: We’re gonna do this the right way, right? We’re gonna do this between myself and you, right?
Before Fletcher could answer, Don Callis interrupted and celebrated with the duo. He expressed his excitement as he said that he had always hated the Young Bucks. Callis stated that they would do anything it took to win the gold.
Don Callis: Guys, you did it! I love it when a plan comes together. You guys are just so great. My god, now we got the Bucks. I hate the Bucks, I’ve always hated the Bucks. But here’s the thing. We’re gonna do anything we need to do. If we gotta pull Matt Jackson’s eye out of his head, we’re gonna do it. If we gotta break Nick Jackson’s back, we’re gonna do it. If we gotta hit them with a baseball bat, we’re gonna do it. We’re gonna get the gold, we’re gonna be champions. I’m so happy. I’m so happy.
Callis then hugged Ospreay and Fletcher, and neither one of them looked thrilled.
