Dorian Roldán: AAA Is Happy With NWA, We Are Having Discussions About Working Together More

Dorian Roldán speaks highly of AAA's relationship with NWA.

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide continues to work with other promotions, and the company joined forces with the National Wrestling Alliance for The World is a Vampire, a show that was held alongside The Smashing Pumpkins' music festival in Mexico in March 2023. Both NWA and AAA talent competed at the event, which marked an extension of the working relationship between the two companies. In another example of their collaboration, La Rebelion (Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf) wrestles for both NWA and AAA.

Speaking on John Poz and Lavie Margolin on The Business of the Business, General Director of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide Dorian Roldán was asked to comment on AAA's relationship with NWA following The World is a Vampire show as part ofThe Smashing Pumpkins tour in Mexico. He shared his belief that it went well, and everyone was happy with it. With that in mind, Roldán noted that the two sides are having talks about how to follow up on the event.

"I think it was great. It was in March, we started to have conversations with Billy Corgan and his team almost last year. It was the first show that happened in the festival, and with the whole concert watching next to us, it was fantastic. It was a good chemistry, and everybody, Billy, ourselves, we were super happy with it. I think it was a good experiment. Let’s see what happens at least, for the next step, we are having discussions of how we can give follow up to this. I know that Billy has been in Australia, having all kinds of awesome matches over there with the NWA and a local promotion. But I think that it could be possibilities to expand this, maybe to America, maybe to another territory with the AAA brand," Roldan said.

When asked to confirm that fans haven’t seen the last of NWA and AAA working together, Roldán made it clear that AAA is happy with NWA, and they try to keep the bridge open with other companies.

"No of course not. We are super happy, we are working really well together. As a company, we try to have open bridges with all the other companies," Roldán said.
