Two big matches have been confirmed for next week's episode of NXT.
It was announced that Drake Maverick, Kushida and Jake Atlas will meet in an extra fourth match to determine the winner of Group A in the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. This came after Maverick defeated Kushida in their final scheduled match.
The announcement came as a result of all three men possessing a 2-1 record with a 1-1 head-to-head record against each other. With head-to-head records being the tiebreaker and none of the three possessing a clear advantage over the other two, NXT General Manager William Regal announced the triple threat match for next week. The winner advances to the tournament finals to take on El Hijo Del Fantasma, the winner of Group B.
In addition, it was announced that Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher will face off against each other in a cage match. Thatcher issued a challenge to Riddle after their match last week, saying he wants to face Riddle in a match that can only be won by knockout or tapout. Riddle then said he would gladly meet Thatcher inside a cage.
