Francine Reflects On Being Part Of 2005 ECW Documentary 'Forever Hardcore'

Francine reflects on being a part of the 2005 Forever Hardcore documentary.

In 2005, then-TNA ring announcer Jeremy Borash produced a documentary about ECW. Titled "Forever Hardcore," the documentary featured names like Terry Funk, Sabu, Shane Douglas, The Sandman, and many of the names that were left out of the 2004 WWE release "The Rise and Fall of ECW." Together, the two documentaries provide a wide variety of first-hand accounts of life while working for Extreme Championship Wrestling and helped usher in a wave of newfound popularity for ECW, leading to several reunion events and short-term revivals for the "Tribe of Extreme."

Francine was one of the names interviewed for the documentary. She recently spoke about her experience being interviewed for the piece during a discussion with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp. She'd noted that she enjoyed the opportunity to share her story and have an expanded narrative beyond the one that WWE shared.

"They took me to [Jeremy Borash's] apartment and then took me to a hotel afterward. That was to counter the one that WWE did that left all of us out. So whoever was left out of that one was profiled on this one and I got to be profiled," she said. "Yeah, and it goes back to what I said at the beginning of the interview. It's like a lot of times WWE left us out of things and like you said, ‘They used the people who were already there.’ So you saw the same guys and girls being used for all these videos and we’re just like, ‘Wow, it would have been nice if they could have got a different perspective once in a while.’ Then when this came out, it was like, ‘Okay, this is your chance to tell your side of the story that they didn't let you have a voice on.’ So we were like, ‘Okay.’ This one was really good. ‘Cause like I said, you saw a lot of the guys that you didn't see before."

Today, Borash works for WWE and is an important part of their production team.
