Drew McIntyre and Bill Goldberg will look to get a jumpstart on unfinished business on the January 25 episode of Monday Night Raw.
On January 4, WWE presented Legends Night and by the end of that special episode of Raw, Bill Goldberg revealed that he was challenging Drew McIntyre to a WWE Championship match at the 2021 Royal Rumble event. McIntyre was originally slated to respond the following week, but the real world intervened.
WWE announced shortly before the January 11 episode of WWE Raw that Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19. However, despite his diagnosis, Drew McIntyre accepted Bill Goldberg’s Challenge and agreed to meet him at the 2021 Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship.
On January 18, Drew McIntyre once again appeared in a pre-recorded segment from home where he announced that he was still asymptomatic but would be returning to Raw on January 25 and invited Bill Goldberg to join him so they could get a jumpstart on settling the score before the Royal Rumble.
