EC3 has come back for one thing: to prove he's the best.
He spoke to ESPN shortly after being shown in the crowd before tonight's TakeOver main event. His return to the promotion since being released in 2013 came down to one feeling: vindication.
"The moment was vindication. The moment was resolution," he said. "I feel redeemed."
It's only been 1,714 days since the last time I stepped foot in the WWE -- but who's counting," he added. "With each day that has passed, I've had one goal in mind -- and that was to be here, in this moment at this time for one purpose."
He's spent the last five years of his career outside of WWE, mainly competing for Impact Wrestling. But now that the past is behind him, he has one goal to instill in everyone: that he's the best.
"For years outside of the WWE, I've been saying one thing -- that I'm the best here, I'm the best there, I'm the best anywhere," said EC3. "While I was the best "here" elsewhere, the "there" I referenced was here [in the WWE] -- and that carries over. I'm the best here, I'm the best there, I'm the best anywhere."
EC3 had been spotted in Philadelphia earlier in the afternoon. He finished up with Impact Wrestling last week during their latest set of tapings.
