WWE has signed another former IMPACT Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion.
As first reported by PWInsider, Eli Drake has signed with WWE and will be a part of the NXT brand.
Drake was previously signed to WWE briefly in 2013 and he used the name Slate Randall and was used as an enhancement name on WWE NXT television until being released in August of 2014.
Following this, he would have a run in IMPACT which would see him become the promotions World Heavyweight Champion, a belt that he would eventually lose to Austin Aries.
Most recently, Drake was a part of the National Wrestling Alliance and had a run with James Storm as the NWA Tag Team Champions.
Eli Drake was seen filming content at NXT this evening prior to the next TakeOver event and Fightful has confirmed that he was filming content earlier in the week for NXT as well. According to his Twitter profile, he will now be going by the name LA Knight.
