The Elite Win Best Of Seven Series & AEW World Trios Championships On 1/11 Dynamite

The Elite have regained the AEW World Trios Championships.

The Kia Forum is no stranger to a classic game (match) seven, and they seemingly got another one tonight, as The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) were able to defeat Death Triangle (PAC, Rey Fenix, & Penta El Zero Miedo) in a Escalera De La Muerte match for the AEW World Trios Championships. Kenny Omega was the one to grab the belts for his trio, as he was able to climb the ladder after drilling Rey Fenix with a One Winged Angel from a ladder that bridged onto another ladder.

As expected, the match featured an plethora of high octane offense and adrenaline pumping aerial maneuvers.

The Elite were able to score the win in the best-of-seven series by winning the final three matches. After going down 1-3 against Death Triangle, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks defeated the trio in a No Disqualification match on the December 21 edition of Dynamite, a Falls Count Anywhere match on the December 28 edition of Dynamite, and in the Escalera De La Muerte match on tonight's show.

This marks the second time that The Elite have held the new set of championships. After becoming the inaugural champions at the All Out pay-per-view in September, the group was involved in a backstage altercation with then AEW World Champion CM Punk. Following the incident, the group was stripped of the trios titles and quietly suspended from the company.

The Elite made their in-ring return to AEW at the Full Gear pay-per-view, where they lost to Death Triangle in a AEW World Trios Championship match. Shortly after their loss, the best-of-seven series was made official.
