Eddie Edwards is the new IMPACT World Champion.
IMPACT promised surprises for Slammiversary and the company delivered with a returning Rich Swann and Eric Young. Swann was revealed as the fourth mystery opponent for the IMPACT World Title main event, which also featured Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin, and Trey. Swann had been sidelined since October 2019 with an ankle injury.
Swann's return wasn't enough as Eric Young made a surprise appearance, inserting himself in the IMPACT World Title match. IMPACT promised a former World Champion would show up and Young fit the bill.
