Ethan Carter III is back in NXT.
EC3, going by those initials only, was seen in the crowd right before the NXT title match tonight at TakeOver: Philadelphia. NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo stated that he was NXT's newest signee.
Although EC3, real name Michael Hutter, was a name primarily used and trademarked by Impact Wrestling, their parent company Anthem's new stance when it comes to their trademarks is that people can retain that intellectual property even when they leave Impact Wrestling. Hutter applied for the trademark immediately after that was announced. He finished up with Impact Wrestling a few weeks ago on their last set of tapings, which will be airing on Pop TV through April.
Hutter was in WWE developmental and on the main roster from 2006-2013, where he went under the name Derrick Bateman. He was on both versions of NXT, first as the reality show on seasons four and five, and later under the NXT developmental territory, where he remained until being released in 2013.
