EVOLVE Announces An Eight-Man Tournament To Crown A New WWN Champion

A new champion will be crowned.

Towards the end of the month of September, the WWN Champion Joey Janela suffered a gruesome injury while competing at Game Changer Wrestling's 'Live Fast Die Young' show. Janela was going one-on-one with former two-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion Psicosis and as Janela was taking flight from the top rope, he landed awkwardly on his leg and that landing would turn out to be far more than just awkward.

Joey Janela took a trip to the doctor and his MRI revealed that he tore his PCL and MCL, sprained his FCL and ACL, fractured his knee, developed a mild bone contusion, a small knee infusion and a partial tear of his patellofemoral ligament. With Janela revealing all of that news it was obvious that he was going to need surgery and he had to relinquish the WWN Championship.

In wake of Janela's sidelining injury, EVOLVE announced that a new WWN Champion will be crowned at EVOLVE 114 on October 28th in Ybor City, Florida. There will be an eight-man tournament and those eight men will compete in singles matches and the four individuals to emerge victorious from those singles matches will meet in a Ladder match with the WWN Championship hanging above the ring.
