AEW Roster Respected The Wishes Of Brodie Lee's Family, Kept Illness Private

The world has been rocked by the unfortunate passing of Jon Huber this past weekend.

Huber, known to the wrestling world as Mr. Brodie Lee and Luke Harper, made an incredible impact on the wrestling world in particular, and garnered the respect of each locker room he was a part of.

We last saw Huber wrestle on the October 7 edition of AEW Dynamite, where he dropped the TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes. He was featured on the October 12 episode of Being The Elite, unfortunately his last All Elite Wrestling appearance. That month, Huber experienced difficulties working out and was eventually hospitalized.

In speaking with members of the All Elite Wrestling roster and staff, many of them were informed of Brodie Lee's illness and the severity long ago, as far back as early November. They were asked to respect the privacy of the family as Lee battled the illness, and did so until his passing. One AEW wrestler noted that they wanted to dispel the idea that anything scandalous happened, beyond them losing a great friend and revered personality.

Huber's wife Amanda noted on Saturday night shortly after his passing that he passed away due to a non-COVID related lung illness. We will provide more details as they are revealed by Huber's family, All Elite Wrestling or in an official capacity.

We extend our condolences to the friends, family, co-workers and fans of Jon Huber.
