Ben Bishop: I Maximized My Minutes On AEW Rampage. 30K More People Watched, Stats Don't Lie

Ben Bishop reflects on AEW Rampage appearance.

On July 12th episode of AEW Rampage, Roderick Strong defeated Ben Bishop (not the former NHL goalie) in quick fashion. Enhancement matches are nothing new on wrestling television, but rarely is there such a size difference between the two opponents. For Bishop, not only did his size stand out, but he managed to showcase his size and personality as well.

"Here's the thing. You find out what you're doing, you're an extra, you know what you are. You're an enhancement talent. Me being my size, it's kind of hard being an enhancement talent, but I was on the sheet. I found out I'm working Roderick Strong, one of the best wrestlers in the last 20 years or so. People have eyes. There's a pretty big size difference between me and Roderick Strong. I hear we have two minutes. Okay, what are we going to do? We were having a conversation about it, and I decided that I have to make the most of this. I feel like I did. I made the most of it. That's what it is all about. I just decided I'm going to run with this and I'm going to make it someone no one has done. No one has done this. No one has taken that opportunity, as small as people see it as, and absolutely run with it. I decided, let's make videos, let's have fun, let's talk it up and get people talking. 30K more people watched Rampage. Coincidence? Tony (Khan), you're a stat guy. Come on now. Stats don't lie. Big Trouble don't either. Time will tell. The Troublemakers have been loud on Twitter. I maximized those minutes. Something is going to come," Bishop told Jeremy Lambert and SP3 on In The Weeds.

Bishop capitalized with a social media video where he watched the match back with his wife, which has gotten hundreds of thousands of views.

AEW Rampage numbers were up from the prior week, which can clearly be attributed to Bishop.
